A Western Cape inventor, Willem van Rensburg, has created a condom that can literally be put on in one second flat.
Van Rensburg identified that the greatest obstacle to using a condom is the length of time it takes to get one on, which tends to be a passion killer.
The Pronto condom has a unique patented applicator built right into the wrapper. One cracks open the foil pouch and then slide the condom directly onto the penis.
Pronto condoms are a unique South African invention and are currently only available in South Africa. You can purchase them at any Pick ‘n Pay or Checkers supermarket (in the Western Cape) or at Dis-Chem and other major pharmacies countrywide (excluding Clicks pharmacies) or online via the Pronto Condoms web site.
They cost about R7 each, which is roughly US$1.
