Bolton Deventer admits he is a faker

An anonymous coward calling himself Bolton Deventer created this WordPress.com blog calling it Web Traffic Made Easy.
The little cowardly shit-for-brains wrote a pathetic excuse, today, for his activities which although satirical in nature only aspired to be comedy on its best days, and there were no best days. His latest post announced the closure of his fake blog and the termination of his fake personality, Bolton Deventer, but without disclosing his true identity.
Bolton Deventer, you are a fag!
The site he created was meant to parody Guy McLaren who recently ran into trouble for his controversial ideas and his use of muti to submit his own blog posts. A rabid crowd of arseholes on muti objected to his tactics and banned McLaren from using it further.
David Duarte is a co-owner of muti, one of the movers and shakers in the local SA Blogosphere and he should know better than to buy into the banning of McLaren. I’m not saying that he explicitly banned McLaren, but he also has not intervened to say that that is not ethical and fair and see to it that McLaren is not hindered from further using muti.
Fact is, muti is as, McLaren states, largely irrelevant in bringing any significant traffic to local blogs. Muti does not drive much traffic here. What does is StumbleUpon. Very often when a post of mine is stumbled, I get a sudden rush of hundreds of visitors.
My friends stumble me often and I stumble them to avoid the self submission of posts injunction. That injunction, however, is anyway lifted by StumbleUpon if you upgrade to a sponsored account which costs $20 per annum, which I have done. However, there is NO FRIKKING WAY I would give muti one red cent until they fix the bullshit that is going down there.
Until then, the David Duartes of South Africa can kiss my arse. I am not impressed with their offerings. Gentlemen, you are just going to have to do so much BETTER than what you are currently doing, which is sweet fanny fuck all. Giving me 3 or 4 visitors a day just does not CUT the mustard.

How is it that StumbleUpon, which is an American social networking site gives me so many visitors whereas the local guys can only deliver 3 or 4 visitors a day?
And please, another thing for those thinking that the hundreds of visitors are all from overseas – WRONG! They are mostly locals finding me through StumbleUpon!

October 16th, 2007 at 14:33Although I haven’t paid much attention to Deventer – I’ve seen his face (and what a face it is, good Lord!) on mybloglog. Generally I’m inclined to want to ‘live and let live’. However, in this instance, its embarrassing to see a grown (wo)man imbibe in such puerile attempts to ‘buck the system’. But what really grates me is that Deventer and the imbecile behind his crummy identity pose a genuine threat to the reputation of the SA Blogosphere – by association. Not cool.
On another note, I can’t decide whether I want you to be a politician or a stand-up comic. You rock in both roles (president and comedian).
(In fact… thinking about it… you could be both at the same time… like George junior, hehe).

With regards to Muti – we are not asking for any red cents from you. Nor will we. It is a news filtering system that is designed simply to ensure a better quality of article rises to the top. I, and some other people, use it as a radar to discover interesting news. Promoting unsolicited, un-newsworthy content degrades the value of the site. So I stand my my colleague Neville’s decision with regards to Guy McLaren.
That said, we are busy developing a new version of Muti.

It was never meant to be a traffic generator like StumbleUpon or Digg but rather a neat little system where like minded individuals would share relevant articles. Guy got it wrong, and the sad part was he never payed attention to early warnings – and was attacked when he continued to submit every single one of his posts. Thats life!
With regards to the “coward calling himself Bolton Deventer”, I think the only reason you’re upset about the whole deal is because you were caught hook line and sinker – we all were. It was a parody, it was the Scary Movie of the internet. Get over it.

October 17th, 2007 at 18:06I have been aware of these 27 meetings for some time, but, frankly, I haven’t felt a strong urge to get involved because I’m a Capetonian and in Cape Town, cliques rule.
What I mean by this is that any group of people will tend to band together in a tight circle (of friends) and regard newcomers with hostility, suspicion and paranoia.
Also, quite honestly, I have no interest in hearing more of Duarte’s ideas since, in my opinion, he doesn’t have any good ideas to assist local SA bloggers. He has admitted, in his comment above, that he desires to ban McLaren (and no doubt anyone else who self submits their blog postings to muti). I consider that to be irrational.
McLaren is my friend. He is part of my CLIQUE, and I regard outsiders with hostility, suspicion and paranoia.
I have analysed the situation with him and Muti, and I can see no good reasons for banning him. I am FUNDAMENTALLY at odds with you people, and I’m more likely to arrive at the event with the intention of spraying the mob with hot lead than sitting down to dinner with you.
StevenMCD’s comment exposes the heart of the matter – the whole nature of the situation is CONFRONTATIONAL. I am simply not interested in arguing with you people, because I don’t RESPECT you or your ideas. I think you are wrong, and I really don’t care to convince you otherwise. I’d rather just get on with discussing my ideas with people who do not already exhibit the level of hostility that you people do. That there is indeed hostility towards me is illustrated by the fact that PRIOR to my writing this article, I had 25 kudos at muti. After this article, having not participated there in any way, I last saw that I was at -10 kudos. People simply went in there and voted me down based on my POLITICS, not on my ACTIONS.

I have modified my blogroll entry. Prior to Bolton’s post in which he admitted he was a faker, I knew that he was being satirical, and he did amuse me. Then he showed what a cowardly dickhead he was when he closed his blog down and refused to tell all.
He did not make full disclosure. He did not disclose his identity, instead he wrote there “catch me if you can”. At that point he became a fag, a cowardly useless fag.
